Digital Video Broadcasting Satellite Second Generation
The DVB-S2 transmission system has been designed for various satellite broadband applications: standard definition TV (SDTV) and high definition TV (HDTV) broadcasting services, interactive applications for home and business users, including Internet access, professional TV contribution services and SNG (Satellite News Gathering), TV signal distribution to VHF/UHF digital terrestrial transmitters, data and Internet trunking.
To achieve a balance between performance and complexity, the DVB-S2 transmission system uses the latest developments in channel coding and modulation.
